6/1/2010 – Maria Dowd is the President of Sol City Beauty Company, the exclusive San Diego County distributor of Design Essentials.  She operates the business with her husband, Curtis V, a 35-year hair styling veteran.  Maria founded and produced African American Women on Tour empowerment conferences that toured throughout the U.S. and abroad from 1991 to 2004.
